Detroit, Michigan - June 6, 2016

Title Source®, the nation’s largest independent provider of title insurance, property valuations and settlement services, today announced that Brian Hughes, Title Source Chief Operating Officer, will speak at the National Notary Association (NNA) Conference.

“Identity theft continues to be a growing concern in the country,” said Hughes. “I am excited about the opportunity to share best practices with our signing agents to protect our clients’ personal information.”

Hughes’ panel discussion is titled: “Protecting Borrower’s Privacy is Not an Option: What Every NSA Must know.” Discussions will include how lenders face regulatory pressures to protect borrowers' privacy now more than ever. The topic will also focus on what steps signing agents need to take to avoid serious liability. Also participating in the discussion will be Alice Sauve, Director of Risk Management at First American Mortgage Solutions, and William Burding Jr., Executive President and General Counsel of Orange Coast Title Company. The three panelists will share their concerns and explain the critical actions they now expect from notary signing agents to secure a borrower’s privacy and prevent identity theft.

Hughes has over 25 years of experience in the national settlement services industry, is a licensed title agent in multiple states, and has been COO of Title Source for nearly 16 years. Hughes holds a degree in finance, has earned Lean Six Sigma Champion and Green Belt certificates, and has completed the Everest leadership program.
