For the 39th consecutive year, Cleveland’s real estate greats converged at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s (CMBA) two-day Real Estate Law Institute. National Commercial’s own Joanie Zimmer, member of the CMBA’s Real Estate Law Section, was heavily involved in the planning of this year’s event. National Commercial Account Closer Molly Bogner, and Business Development Associate David Allen, from the National Commercial Cleveland office also joined Joanie at the event.
Both days were filled with continuing legal education panels on hot real estate topics such as mineral rights, current underwriting issues, and attorney opinion letters. Each panel consisted of three speakers and a moderator. The panelists were full of knowledge on their chosen topics, and had obviously spent a great deal of time preparing for each panel.
The CMBA provided a delicious lunch each day and engaging lunchtime speakers, including representatives from Habitat for Humanity and the Cleveland Port Authority. These speakers were a great way to connect attendees with the ever-changing landscape of the great city of Cleveland! The team most enjoyed the presentation on the new development on Cleveland’s east side – the Van Aken District – which will provide a much-needed gateway from downtown to Shaker Heights, one of Cleveland’s oldest and most beautiful suburbs.
